There are plenty of beers being sold at NFL stadiums and advertisements for them being shown during games, but the NFL has apparently drawn the line at players pretending to drink them on the field.
Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk has been fined $14,926 for engaging in an offensive demonstration during the team’s Week 2 win over the Dolphins. According to the fine letter that Juszczyk received, it was for a celebration that involved him pretending to chug a beverage.
“Your imitation of chugging a beer constituted an offensive demonstration and could reasonably be construed as being in poor taste,” the league said in the letter.
Juszczyk has done the celebration in the past — it’s related to his nickname “Juice” — without drawing the notice of the league and is appealing the fine.
