The UEFA Champions League’s round of 16 action begins on Tuesday with arguably the most compelling matchup of the round – the latest edition of the Madrid derby.
Reigning champions Real Madrid will take on crosstown rivals Atletico Madrid, marking yet another tall task as Carlo Ancelotti’s side aim to defend their title. Los Blancos have been unable to beat Atletico in two previous meetings this season, which both ended 1-1. This will also be a clash between two sides with impressive attackers, including Real Madrid’s star-studded attack that includes Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior, while Atletico’s Julian Alvarez and Antoine Griezmann have 17-plus goals each this season.
Elsewhere in Europe, Arsenal will have a chance to make their case as a Champions League contender when they take on PSV, while Borussia Dortmund host Lille and Aston Villa travel to Club Brugge in the day’s early game.
