Champions League scores: Bayern Munich edge by Celtic, AC Milan lose to Feyenoord in first-leg action

Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League action was all about tight margins, with four teams carrying a one goal advantage into next week’s second leg of the knockout phase playoffs after tightly contested matches.

Bayern Munich beat Celtic 2-1 with goals from Michael Olise and Harry Kane, but the Scottish side’s ability to stay in the game meant they were able to score shortly before the final whistle and laid the foundation for a competitive game in Munich next week. Feyenoord, meanwhile, beat AC Milan 1-0 after a goal from Igor Paixao just three minutes into the game.

Benfica will also carry a 1-0 advantage into their home leg next week after beating a 10 man Monaco, who will be without Al-Musrati after he received two yellow cards on Wednesday. In the early game, Club Brugge beat Atalanta 2-1 thanks to a controversial late penalty.

Wednesday’s results

  • Club Brugge 2, Atalanta 1

  • Feyenoord 1, AC Milan 0

Tuesday’s results
