Chargers designate TE Hayden Hurst to return from injured reserve

The Chargers designated tight end Hayden Hurst to return from injured reserve Tuesday, Kris Rhim of ESPN reports. It opens the 21-day practice window for Hurst.

He went on injured reserve Nov. 25 with a hip injury.

The Chargers have Will Dissly and Eric Tomlinson at the top of the depth chart.

Hurst played the first seven games, with two starts, and made seven catches for 65 yards. He saw 160 snaps, which was 38 percent of the team’s offensive snaps in the games he played.

Hurst is in his first season in Los Angeles after two with the Ravens, two with the Falcons, one with the Bengals and one with the Panthers.
