One of the highly anticipated matchups of the weekend is between the Boston Red Sox (57-51) and Los Angeles Dodgers (69-40). These are two of the hottest teams in each league over the last eight games and in July overall.
Since the Red Sox’s winning streak ended at 16 games, Boston is 5-3 and won four of the past five. Los Angeles is on a two game winning streak and is 6-2 over the past eight games. Boston joined elite company with their 16-game winning streak. Only eight teams have recorded winning streaks of 15-plus wins in the regular season since 1961 and every team made the postseason, which is good news for Boston.
