DraftKings promo code for the NBA Play-In Tournament: Bet $5, get $200 in bonus bets

The NBA Play-In Tournament begins on Tuesday as we wait to see which teams will earn the final two seeds in both the Western and Eastern Conferences. Atlanta Hawks and Orlando Magic as well as the Chicago Bulls and Miami Heat square off in the East, while the two games in the West are Grizzlies-Warriors and Mavericks-Kings. Bettors who want to place wagers on any of these NBA Play-In Tournament games can use the latest DraftKings promo code to do so, as you can earn $200 in bonus bets after making a first bet of $5.

Here’s a closer look at the latest DraftKings offer, including how it stacks up with other sportsbook promotions. We’ll also dive into the top games on today’s sports schedule.

How to claim DraftKings’ promo code

The DraftKings promo code offer is only available to new users who have never signed up for the sportsbook before. It’s also only available to those who reside in a state in which DraftKings operates, and who are of legal age.

To join DraftKings, enter all necessary information, such as legal name, email, date of birth and address. You also will need to provide payment information. Once you complete the process of making your account, deposit and wager at least $5. Your account will then be credited with $200 in bonus bets in the form of eight $25 bonus bet tokens. You receive these bonus bets whether your first bet wins or loses.

The bonus bet tokens are issued to your account within 72 hours of your first bet settling, and they expire seven days after they enter your account. It’s important to note that if you win a bet using bonus bets, you receive only your winnings back and not the stake.

DraftKings promo comparison

DraftKings isn’t the only sportsbook sportsbook offering a new-user promotion ahead of the NBA Play-In Tournament. Here’s what the top sportsbooks are all offering, as well as a breakdown of how they compare to one another.

Brand Promo CBS promo code
DraftKings Bet $5, get $200 in bonus bets instantly  None required
BetMGM Up to $1,500 in bonus bets if your first bet loses CBSSPORTS
Caesars Bet $1, double your winnings on your next 10 bets CBSDYW
Fanatics Bet and get up to $1,000 in No Sweat Bets None required
FanDuel Bet $5, get $250 in bonus bets if your bet wins   None required
bet365 Bet $5, get $150 in bonus bets win or lose CBSBET365

DraftKings is offering a “bet and get” promotion, as are FanDuel and bet365. All three require first bets of $5 in order to receive bonus bets, with FanDuel offering $250 in bonus bets compared to $200 at DraftKings and $150 at bet365. FanDuel requires you to win your first bet in order to receive the $250 in bonus bets, while you don’t need to win your first wager at DraftKings or bet365. DraftKings’ bonus bet funds are paid out in the form of eight $25 bonus bet tokens, while at bet365, you can wager the $150 in bonus funds however you please.

Caesars’ promotion is for profit boosts, as after a first bet of $1, your next 10 bets receive 100% profit boosts. The maximum wager for each of those 10 bets is $25, while the maximum additional winnings for each token is $2,500.

BetMGM and Fanatics are running bet insurance promotions, but in different ways. BetMGM’s promotion covers your first bet up to $1,500, meaning you receive your stake back in bonus bets should your first bet lose. Fanatics covers your first bet of each of your first 10 days with the sportsbook. If those bets lose, you get your stake back in the form of bonus bets. Each of those first bets is covered up to $100 each, giving a maximum return of $1,000 in bonus bets should your first bet of each day be for $100 and all 10 of those bets lose.

Betting on the NBA Play-In Tournament

The NBA Play-In Tournament gives four teams in each conference the ability to get into the main playoffs as one of the final two seeds in their respective conference. The No. 7 and 8 seeds — Hawks-Magic in the East and Grizzlies-Warriors in the West — face off with the winner earning the No. 7 seed in the main playoff bracket and face Boston in the East and Houston in the West. The loser of that game faces the winner of the No. 9-10 game — Bulls-Heat in the East and Mavericks-Kings in the West. The winner of that ensuing matchup earns the eighth and final playoff spot and will take on Cleveland in the East and Oklahoma City in the West.

Hawks-Magic and Grizzlies-Warriors are both on Tuesday, while Bulls-Heat and Mavericks-Kings are Wednesday. The losers of the 7-8 games face the winners of the 9-10 games on Thursday.

The Magic opened as 5-point favorites over the Hawks to advance to the playoffs, while the Bulls are slim 1-point favorites over the Heat. If both favorites win, Chicago would take on Atlanta for the No. 8 seed.

The Warriors are 7.5-point favorites in their matchup with the Grizzlies, and the Kings are 5-point favorites versus the Mavericks. If both Golden State and Sacramento win as the sportsbooks seem to believe, that’d set up Kings-Mavericks with the winner earning the No. 8 seed in the West.

In Hawks-Magic, Trae Young is the top star to watch for Atlanta, while Paolo Banchero leads the way for Orlando. Both are bright young players who are averaging over 24 points per game. The Bulls’ top scorer this year has been is Coby White at 20.6 points per game, and Tyler Herro averages 23.9 points per contest for the Heat.

The Hawks and Magic split their four games this year, including a 117-105 Atlanta win on Sunday, and the Bulls won all three regular-season matchups against the Heat. The Warriors took three of four from the Grizzlies, and the Mavericks dropped all three games against the Kings this year.

Steph Curry leads the Warriors as he, Draymond Green and head coach Steve Kerr are looking for their fifth NBA Championship together, and Ja Morant is the top player for the Grizzles. After trading Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving and Anthony Davis, the latter of whom was in the Doncic trade, lead the way for the Mavericks while the Kings are led by the trio of DeMar DeRozan, Zach LaVine and Domantas Sabonis.

Responsible Gaming with DraftKings
