No matter how the Eagles offense operates, the “tush push” remains unstoppable. Jalen Hurts scored a 1-yard touchdown run to give the Eagles a 10-10 deadlock with the Cincinnati Bengals at halftime. Hurts is second all time in rushing touchdowns in Eagles history (46), trailing only Steve Van Buren (69).
Hurts converted a tush push on third down with 22 seconds left in the first half to tie the game at 10-10. The Eagles quarterback is third in NFL history with 46 rushing touchdowns by a quarterback, 27 of which are from 1-yard out. Hurts is 8 of 12 for 93 yards in the first half, in addition to his 1-yard touchdown run.
Joe Burrow found Ja’Marr Chase for a touchdown on Cincinnati’s opening possession, which took 10:04 off the clock on a 17-play, 70-yard drive. Burrow started 5 of 5 on third down on the opening drive, the Bengals’ lone touchdown of the first half. Cincinnati also had a missed 54-yard field goal from Evan McPhearson, who has missed three straight 50+ yard field goals and is 10 of 18 on 50+ yard field goal attempts over the last two years.
The Eagles still have not scored in the first quarter, the first team since the 1991 Packers to go their first seven games without scoring in the first quarter. Philadelphia did score on its opening possession, a 39-yard field goal to make it 7-3 early in the second quarter.
