The Boston Red Sox (68-59) open a three-game series against the San Francisco Giants (52-75) tonight at Fenway Park. Boston enters the weekend in control of the second Wild Card position in the American League. The Giants are riding out a disappointing season. Only the Rockies have fewer wins on the campaign than San Francisco’s 52.
The issues for the Giants are on the mound as well as at the plate.
