Lions likely lost three more defensive players to season-ending injuries today

The hits keep coming for the decimated Detroit defense.

The Lions, who already had more defensive players on injured reserve than any other team in the NFL, lost three more players to apparent season-ending injuries today.

The most serious injury was to cornerback Khalil Dorsey, who had an air cast put on his leg and had to be carted off the field and taken to the hospital. His leg injury is season-ending.

And Lions head coach Dan Campbell said after the game that he believes the injuries to defensive tackle Alim McNeill (knee) and cornerback Carlton Davis (jaw) are season-ending as well.

The Lions have been the best team in the NFL for most of this season, but their defense has been so ravaged by injuries that it’s going to be tough for them to be the best team in the NFL when it really counts, in the playoffs. They’ve had the kind of run of injuries that it’s almost impossible for any team to overcome.
