The Panthers saw a 17-point first half lead drop to three points, but they are back up by two scores in the fourth quarter.
Quarterback Bryce Young dropped a dime into wide receiver David Moore’s hands for an 18-yard score. Eddy Pineiro’s extra point put the Panthers up 30-20 with 12:04 left to play in Charlotte.
It was the second touchdown pass of the game for Young and it came two plays after he got leveled while throwing a dart to tight end Tommy Tremble for a 12-yard gain. Young had a rough outing against the Cowboys last week, but he has rebounded well on Sunday and has also run for a score to help the Panthers’ bid to spoil the Cardinals’ dwindling playoff hopes.
Those hopes will be all but extinguished if Kyler Murray can’t mount a comeback, so the final minutes of this one may be the final meaningful minutes of the season for Arizona.
