PFT’s Week 17 2024 NFL power rankings

1. Chiefs (last week No. 3; 14-1): The Chiefs are inevitable.

2. Bills (No. 2; 12-3): Can the defense hold up in the playoffs?

3. Vikings (No. 4; 13-2): They’re the most overlooked 13-2 team the NFL has ever seen. They aren’t overlooked here.

4. Lions (No. 5; 13-2): They answered the bell against the Bears. It might all come down to Week 18 against the Vikings.

5. Eagles (No. 1; 12-3): They need to get Jalen Hurts back, ASAP.

6. Packers (No. 6; 11-4): They could end up winning it all.

7. Ravens (No. 7; 10-5): It feels like they’ll get another crack at the Chiefs.

8. Commanders (No. 10; 10-5): Jayden Daniels busted through the rookie wall.

9. Steelers (No. 8; 10-5): They might end up limping into the playoffs.

10. Chargers (No. 15; 9-6): Larry David is a better good-luck charm than Judge Judy.

11. Rams (No. 13; 9-6): Great teams win even when they’re outplayed.

12. Broncos (No. 9; 9-6): They’ll be a problem in the playoffs. If they get there.

13. Texans (No. 12; 9-6): Still searching for that signature win.

14. Falcons (No. 18; 8-7): Michael Penix, Jr. seems unflappable. We’ll see if it translates from Giants to Commanders.

15. Buccaneers (No. 11; 8-7): Every time it seems like they’ve figured it out, it goes the other way.

16. Bengals (No. 17; 7-8): If they can get a seat at the table, they can run the table.

17. Seahawks (No. 14; 8-7): It’s amazing they’re still alive, after losing six of their last seven home games.

18. Cowboys (No. 21; 7-8): They’ve apparently saved Mike McCarthy.

19. Colts (No. 19; 7-8): A one-dimensional offense won’t get it done in the playoffs.

20. Dolphins (No. 22; 7-8): They still have a chance to make a quick playoff exit.

21. Cardinals (No. 16; 7-8): They fell apart once the stakes got higher.

22. 49ers (No. 20; 6-9): They need to hit the reset button.

23. Saints (No. 23; 5-10): Rizzi has lost his rizz.

24. Bears (No. 24; 4-11): It all fell apart the moment they misplayed a Hail Mary.

25. Jets (No. 25; 4-11): Brick and Jack have the same winning percentage on Madden.

26. Panthers (No. 26; 4-11): Is it a building block or a blip?

27. Raiders (No. 31; 3-12): Beating the Jaguars changes nothing.

28. Browns (No. 27; 3-12): The soft tank is working.

29. Jaguars (No. 28; 3-12): Remember when they made it to the final eight and gave the Chiefs a run for their money? I sure don’t.

30. Patriots (No. 29; 3-12): Will Jerod Mayo survive for a second year?

31. Titans (No. 30; 3-12): Will Brian Callahan survive for a second year?

32. Giants (No. 32; 2-13): Will the franchise survive for a 101st year?
