In a carryover from the regular season, the Baltimore Ravens dominated the first half of their wild-card round showdown against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Ravens, who ended the regular season with a four-game winning streak, took a 21-0 halftime lead over the Steelers, who entered the postseason with four consecutive losses.
Baltimore ran all over Pittsburgh’s defense in the first half. Derrick Henry rumbled for 100 yards that included a 30-yard run on Baltimore’s opening drive that set up Lamar Jackson’s touchdown pass to Rashod Bateman. Baltimore’s second scoring run consisted of only runs, with Henry’s 8-yard touchdown run capping off a 15-play, 85-yard drive that nearly eight minutes off the clock.
The Ravens got on the board just before halftime following Pittsburgh’s fourth punt in as many possessions. Jackson bought time in the pocket before hitting a wide open Justice Hill for a 5-yard score.
Jackson threw for 139 yards on 12 of 14 passing in the first half. The likely league MVP also ran for 64 yards on 11 carries. Baltimore outgained the Steelers 308-59 in the first half, as Pittsburgh is closing in on its sixth consecutive playoff defeat.
