Texans sign OL Austin Deculus off Saints’ practice squad, place OT Zach Thomas on NFI

The Texans signed offensive lineman Austin Deculus off the Saints’ practice squad, the team announced Tuesday.

Deculus arrived to the NFL as a sixth-round draft pick of the Texans out of LSU in 2022.

He bounced between the practice squad and the active roster in 2022 and 2023. The Jets claimed him off waivers on Nov. 13, 2023, and after the Jets waived him out of the 2024 preseason in August, he joined the Saints’ practice squad.

Deculus has appeared in 12 career games with one start, all with the Texans.

The team placed offensive lineman Zach Thomas on the reserve-non-football illness list in a corresponding move. They signed wide receiver Jaxon Janke to their practice squad.
