Hello and welcome to live coverage of the final day of the transfer window in Europe. For a host of top clubs this represents their final chance to strengthen their club for the next three and a bit months, a potentially desperate last swing at anyone who could plug a gap or the chance to make an inspired addition.
In England this has already been a hectic month of spending. Faltering Manchester City have added to their defense and frontline in deals worth $150 million, they may not be done today. Meanwhile Arsenal, fresh from their thumping win over the champions, will be hoping to secure the attacking additions they have targeted throughout the window. Could that mean more business at Aston Villa? They have already rejected a bid for Ollie Watkins from the Gunners, sold Jhon Duran to Al-Nassr and loaned in Marcus Rashford. The Midlands side may not be done yet.
On the continent these days tend to be quieter but they are sure to be drawn into the Premier League’s drama. Mathys Tel has proven to be one of the main characters of this window, will he get a move? Could Joao Felix be off to AC Milan? If so he would be replacing Alvaro Morata, who is Galatasaray bound.
Stay tuned for the latest on those deals and an awful lot more ahead of the closure of the window, starting a 2 p.m. ET with the Bundesliga before the Premier League and La Liga call it a night at 6 p.m.
