The Rams quarterback completed only 4 of 11 passes for 65 yards and an interception in the first half. Forty-one of those yards came on one throw to Puka Nacua that set up their only touchdown. Stafford’s passer rating is 19.1.
The 49ers lead 10-7 at halftime, having outgained the Rams 208 to 137.
Brock Purdy went 17-of-25 for 141 yards with a touchdown and an interception. He threw a 39-yard strike to Demarcus Robinson for the 49ers’ first touchdown of the season.
The 49ers settled for a chip-shot, 20-yard Eddy Piñeiro field goal on their first drive of the season, choosing not to go for it on fourth-and-goal from the Rams 2.
Mike Evans has five catches for 47 yards, and rookie Kaelon Black has run for 36 yards on seven carries. Christian McCaffrey has three carries for 17 yards and four catches for 20 yards.
Kyren Williams has the Rams’ only touchdown, scoring on a 5-yard run after Nacua’s long gainer to the 8. Williams has seven carries for 31 yards and Blake Corum six for 42.
49ers cornerback Renardo Green and Rams safety Quentin Lake each have an interception.
Myles Garrett, the reigning Defensive Player of the Year, had a quiet first half. He has no stats yet.
