49ers sign DE Viliami Fehoko

The 49ers added pass rush help on Monday, signing defensive end Viliami Fehoko, according to the NFL’s transaction wire.

In a corresponding move, the 49ers released tight end Josiah Deguara.

Fehoko entered the NFL as a fourth-round pick of the Cowboys in 2023. He spent part of his rookie season with a knee injury that landed him on IR.

The Cowboys waived Fehoko before his second season and he signed with the Commanders’ practice squad late in the 2024 season. Washington waived him with an injury designation during training camp in 2025.

He spent some time on the Colts’ practice squad last season.

But Fehoko has never played in a regular-season game.

The 49ers needed depth at the position with rookie defensive end Romello Height nursing an injury.
