Aaron Rodgers: Steelers are Super Bowl contenders, that’s why I came back

Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has no doubt that he can end his career by winning a Super Bowl.

Asked by Adam Schein if the Steelers are among the teams that are realistic contenders to win the Super Bowl, Rodgers didn’t hesitate.

“Yeah, of course. Of course. That’s why I came back, because I believe in the guys,” Rodgers said.

Rodgers then rattled off the names of several teammates he’s expecting to have good seasons, on offense, defense and special teams, and said he believes the Steelers have built a team that can compete with anyone.

“I like the roster as a whole,” Rodgers said. “We have good veteran leadership. It’s just about going out there and doing it. I feel like the AFC is very deep. Even our own division has a number of teams with Super Bowl aspirations, which is great.”

Rodgers has said this will be his final NFL season. Five months from now, he believes it’s realistic to think he’ll ride off into the sunset with the Lombardi Trophy in his hands.
