Andy Reid: Mia Bieniemy is improving every day, no timetable for Eric to return

Mia Bieniemy, the wife of Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, is improving after she was shot in their home in Virginia on July 26.

Although Mia Bieniemy remains hospitalized, she is doing better, according to Chiefs coach Andy Reid, who said Eric Bieniemy remains away from the team with no scheduled return.

“On the Eric Bieniemy side, Mia’s doing better, she keeps improving by the day, so that’s a positive. There’s no timetable on EB coming back or any of that. He just needs to take care of business and when he gets back here he gets back here,” Reid said.

Eric and Mia’s son Elijah Bieniemy was arrested and charged with malicious wounding, use of a firearm in commission of a felony and discharge of a firearm inside a dwelling in connection with the shooting. Elijah Bieniemy has been jailed since then. Court appearances have been delayed while Elijah undergoes mental health evaluations.
