The Broncos were down 16-0 to the Rams at halftime.
With two touchdowns and two two-point conversions, it’s a brand new ballgame.
Bo Nix’s 8-yard touchdown pass to Nate Adkins and a two-point conversion to Pat Bryant, tied the game at 16-16 with 2:15 left in the third quarter.
Denver used a nice punt return to spark the offense for the team’s first points of the night. In his regular-season debut, rookie Kolbe Katsis put the Broncos on the Rams’ 42-yard line with a 28-yard punt return after the club went three-and-out.
The Broncos then converted four third downs, including a third-and-goal with Bo Nix’s 5-yard touchdown to Pat Bryant for the score. Nix connected with Jaylen Waddle in the back of the end zone for a successful two-point conversion.
Then a costly special teams mistake set the Broncos up for another score. Emmanuel Forbes was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct for being pushed out of bounds while covering a punt and did not immediately return to the field of play. So instead of the Broncos having it backed up at their own 10-yard line, the Rams had to re-kick and Denver started at the Denver 48.
Jaylen Waddle put the Broncos in the red zone with a 14-yard end around. Then the Broncos got inside the 10 with a 12-yard pass from Nix to Tyler Badie.
On second-and-goal, Nix connected with Adkins who turned and walked into the end zone for the TD. Nix then hit Bryant with a jump ball to tie the game with a successful conversion.
Notably, Broncos running back RJ Harvey is being evaluated for a concussion.
