Cardinals, Jacoby Brissett strike a new deal

The Cardinals and quarterback Jacoby Brissett have resolved their differences.

Via ESPN, the team and Brissett have reached an agreement on a new deal.

Brissett signed a two-year deal in 2025 to serve as Kyler Murray’s backup. Brissett was thrust into the starting role during the regular season. He entered 2026 as the default QB1.

And so he needed to be paid that way.

Ian Rapoport of ESPN reports that Brissett will have a base salary of $15.5 million, with a chance to make $21 million.

Even with the upside, it’s the low end of the veteran starter scale. But it’s much more than the $6.5 million APY under his prior deal.

Brissett didn’t hold out of training camp, but he hadn’t been participating in 11-on-11 drills. Now, he’ll start putting in the work to be the starter for the coming season.
