Cardinals lose second-round rookie guard Chase Bisontis to knee injury

The Cardinals appear to have lost their second-round draft pick for a significant period of time with a preseason knee injury.

Cardinals guard Chase Bisontis was injured when a Raiders defensive lineman fell into the side of his left knee in the third quarter on Thursday night. He was carted to the locker room.

Arizona head coach Mike LaFleur said after the game that the injury was “not good.” Bisontis will undergo further medical evaluation that is expected to confirm bad news.

Bisontis was expected to compete with Isaiah Adams for the starting right guard job. Now that job may go to Adams by default.

The Cardinals have had terrible injury luck with rookie offensive linemen in the preseason. Last year sixth-round pick Hayden Conner missed most of the regular season after he was injured in the preseason. In 2024, fifth-round pick Christian Jones missed most of the regular season after he was injured in the preseason. In 2023, fourth-round pick Jon Gaines missed his entire rookie season with a preseason injury.
