Christian Kirk out of 49ers practice with a calf strain

Wide receiver Christian Kirk’s first training camp practice as a 49er came to an early end and he will miss more time on Monday.

Matt Maiocco of NBCSportsBayArea.com reports that Kirk will miss practice. Kirk suffered a calf strain during Sunday’s practice and left the field with a trainer to be evaluated.

Kirk signed with the 49ers this offseason after catching 28 passes for 239 yards and a touchdown in 13 regular season games for the Texans last year. He also had 10 catches for 164 yards and two touchdowns in the playoffs.

Offensive tackle Vederian Lowe also left Sunday’s practice and Maiocco reports he will miss time with a high ankle sprain. Defensive linemen Gracen Halton (knee) and Andrew Farmer (back) are the other 49ers set to miss Monday’s session.
