Cowboys OLB Donovan Ezeiruaku expects more sacks than last season

Cowboys outside linebacker Donovan Ezeiruaku ranked in the top five among rookies in pressures, win rate, hits and hurries in 2025, according to Pro Football Focus. Ezeiruaku, though, managed only two sacks.

“They don’t draft edge rushers to not get any sacks,” Ezeiruaku said, via Joseph Hoyt of the Dallas Morning News.

The Cowboys selected Ezeiruaku in the second round in 2025 after he led the nation with 16.5 sacks in his final college season at Boston College. Thus, last season wasn’t what Ezeiruaku expected or wanted.

“Especially for me, the way I take pride in what I do and what I want to do to help this football team,” Ezeiruaku said.

He is fully healthy now after undergoing offseason surgery for a hip injury he played through last season and ready to contribute more than he did as a rookie.

“I feel very explosive,” Ezeiruaku said.
