Gronk knows the right way for the Patriots to put distractions behind them: “Win”

The Mike Vrabel-Dianna Russini situation has simmered. Two things (among others, in theory) could bring it to a boil again.

If that happens, how should the Patriots get past it? Former Patriots right end Rob Gronkowski has some advice.

“It’s as easy as this,” Gronkowski said, via Fox News Digital. “Win. You win. You come together as a team. You work together, you work your butt off.”

He’s right. Winning will be the best way to put all of it in the rearview mirror.

“If you win, it solves all problems,” Gronkowski said. “It really does. It’s crazy how winning in the NFL, it truly does and you’re good to go there. You gotta win, baby.”

Again, the issue has subsided. That could change when The Athletic finishes its investigation of Russini, depending on what the results of the investigation are. It also could change if/when Russini tells her story — mainly because no one knows what she’d say.

Regardless, winning does indeed cure everything. Starting with Week 1 and a Seahawks rematch.

Given the way Super Bowl XL went for New England, a victory right out of the gates wouldn’t just send the story of the offseason to the back burner. It would knock it off the stove entirely.
