In deleted social-media post, DeAndre Hopkins accused Steve Keim of PED test “set up”

With former Cardinals G.M. Steve Keim attracting attention for his connection to an alleged scam artist who was recently found dead in a pool, a former Cardinals player took to social media on Sunday with a specific accusation against Keim.

Via Theo Mackie of the Arizona Republic, Hopkins said this regarding Keim: “I got set up when I played for his team and lost 13 million. Skeme Slime was my GM, contaminated drug test go figure how that happened.”

Hopkins later deleted the message.

As Mackie notes, Hopkins lost $5.2 million as a result of the six-game suspension during the 2022 season, his final year with the Cardinals.

Hopkins didn’t elaborate on why he believes he was “set up,” or why he believes Keim was involved in it.
