More ESPN, NFL Network layoffs are coming Tuesday

ESPN’s clunky, on-air termination of NFL analyst Ryan Clark was just the beginning.

Via Andrew Marchand of The Athletic, ESPN and NFL Network are expected to have more layoffs on Tuesday.

It’s an unavoidable consequence of ESPN absorbing NFL Network. Tasks are necessarily duplicated. Now that the dust has settled on ESPN’s April 1 acquisition of NFL Network and other NFL Media assets (with the NFL securing a 10-percent stake in ESPN), Disney is about to kick up some fresh dust by issuing pink slips.

Expect more names to surface sooner than later. (We’ve already caught wind of one recognizable name.)

While unfortunate, business is business. The company is always going to do what’s right for it. That’s why it’s always important for the employees to do what’s right for them.
