Quinnen Williams: I know I can be better than last year

Defensive tackle Quinnen Williams is wrapping up his first offseason with the Cowboys and he said it has “been fun” to get a fuller sense of how the organization operates after arriving in a trade with the Jets during the 2025 season.

The hope is that the added time with the team will result in a higher level of performance for Williams. He was selected for the Pro Bowl, but posted his fewest sacks since his rookie season and said on Wednesday that he knows he can have more impact on that front in the future.

“I didn’t have my best year when it came down to it, statistically, as a pass rusher last year,” Williams said, via the team’s website. “I wanna be better. I wanna do better, and not for myself, but for this team. And I know I can be better.”

One reason Williams is confident he can be more effective this season is the presence of new defensive coordinator Christian Parker.

“From the defensive scheme, and the defensive mindset, he’s extremely smart when it comes down to the defense of how he sees the game,” Williams said. “It opened my eyes on when I could take my shots, when I can do certain things and constructive criticism from what he sees, and what I need to work on from his point of view. And [also] what he feels like I can do better from his point of view — the respect that he has for me to respect I have for him.”

The Cowboys gave up a lot to get Williams last year and rediscovering his top form in 2026 would make that decision look a lot wiser.
