Saquon Barkley gets left foot/ankle checked out at Eagles practice

Eagles running back Saquon Barkley was the subject of a number of dispatches from media members at Thursday’s practice.

The first set had to do with Barkley breaking off impressive runs while working through drills against his defensive teammates. The second will be less exciting to Eagles fans hoping to see the offense bounce back this season.

Per multiple reports, Barkley appeared to tweak his left foot or ankle later in the session. Barkley’s cleat came off as he was checked out by trainers and the shoe stayed off even as Barkley remained on the field.

The hope in Philly will be that it is a minor issue that won’t keep Barkley off the field for long or at all. Tank Bigsby, Will Shipley, Dameon Pierce, Carson Steele, and Ja’Quinden Jackson are the other backs for the Eagles.
