Bears place CB Kyler Gordon on active/PUP and T.J. Edwards on NFI

Bears slot cornerback Kyler Gordon played only three games last season, twice landing on injured reserve.

He will start the team’s training camp on active/physically unable to perform.

Gordon, who signed a three-year, $40 million extension in April 2025, battled groin, hamstring and calf injuries last season and his injury problems continued into the offseason program. A reported soft-tissue injury forced Gordon off the field during some of the team’s offseason work.

The Bears made several other moves Saturday, including placing linebacker T.J. Edwards on the non-football injury list. He fractured a fibula in the postseason but had returned to practice in the offseason program.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Edwards has a minor muscle strain that isn’t expected to sideline him long.

Linebacker Keyshaun Elliott (quad), linebacker Noah Sewell (Achilles), offensive lineman Ozzy Trapilo (left knee) and defensive lineman Shemar Turner (knee) joined Gordon on the active/PUP list.
