Bears sign QB Miller Moss to practice squad, elevate him for Sunday’s game

The Bears listed backup quarterback Tyson Bagent as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Panthers with a back injury and it looks like they’re expecting him to be inactive.

The team announced that they signed quarterback Miller Moss to the practice squad on Saturday and then elevated him for their season opener. Moss will have to be active on Sunday in order to be eligible to play because emergency third quarterbacks have to be on the active roster, although the Bears could just go with Case Keenum as the backup to Caleb Williams if Bagent is unavailable.

The Bears also elevated wide receiver Kaden Davis from the practice squad. Both players were with the team during training camp and will revert to the practice squad after Sunday’s game.

Defensive back Keidron Smith was released from the practice squad to make room for Moss.
