Thursday Night Football: Bills DL Ed Oliver won’t play after injuring hip in pregame

The Bills will be without a key piece of their defense for Thursday Night Football against the Lions.

Buffalo has ruled out defensive lineman Ed Oliver after he injured his hip in pregame wramups. He is inactive for the game.

Oliver was not on the injury report this week.

The Bills’ other inactives are running back Ty Johnson (hamstring), wide receiver Skyler Bell, offensive tackle Jude Bowry, offensive guard Ar’maj Reed-Adams, defensive lineman T.J. Sanders (knee/illness) and safety Jalon Kilgore.

Bills safety Cole Bishop is active after being listed as questionable with knee and groin issues.

The Lions’ inactives are offensive tackle Blake Miller (knee), offensive guard Christian Mahogany (hip), cornerback Keith Abney II, cornerback Ennis Rakestraw Jr., linebacker Jimmy Rolder, defensive lineman Mekhi Wingo and edge rusher Ahmed Hassanein.

Cornerback D.J. Reed, who was questionable with a foot injury, is active.
